Amazing burgers 0.8 miles away From Ala Moana

Did you know that one of the best burgers on the island of Oahu comes from a food truck? Yes you heard me right...a FOOD TRUCK! Chubbies Burgers is located at 960 Auahi Street Honolulu, HI 96814 in the Kakaako neighborhood (just 0.8 miles away from the Ala Moana Shopping Center). This is by far one of the best burgers in Metro Oahu. Now take this with a grain of salt that it's my opinion. Sure you can eat at a boring chain like Mcdonalds or Burger King (both of which I enjoy) or travel 30 minutes outside of Metro Oahu to eat at Kua Aina or Five Guys. This is by far one of the best alternative options for a tasty mouth-watering burger in town!

Unfortunately its not a sit-in type of restaurant since its a food truck. But there are outdoor tables available. Simple order, grab your buzzer and grab a seat. Its a bit obvious, but ideally you would want to eat on a non rainy/windy day and ideally around sunset when its not too sunny.

The burgers are truly amazing and probably one of the closest things to In-N-Out. The patties are from grass-fed local beef  and comes on their signature house-made potato bun. Fries can also be ordered plain-jane style or you can go fancy like I did and get the Bacon fries (upper left) and the Grub Fries (upper right). The fancy fries comes with cheese, sauce, and onions. 

​The burgers I'd recommend are the Ten Gallon (bacon, cheddar, and bbq sauce) or the El Rey (pepper-jack cheese, avacado, panko crusted red onion rings, and ranch sauce). These are the more "speciality" or fancier burgers on the menu. There is a more traditional burger called the 50's burger, but if you are going to be eating a burger, you minus well go BIG or go home. These bad boys are just a couple bucks more and are well worth it! Overall, if you want a burger and you're in town, then eat at Chubbies! Open daily from 10:30am to 9pm.
